The Resilience Medicine Approach

How We Help You

We are a UK-wide virtual integrative & cannabinoid Holistic Private Doctor Practice founded by Dr. Dani Gordon, a world leading expert in this field.

The Resilience Medicine Clinic our approach to health is different. Our goal is to dramatically improve your quality of life and sense of wellbeing. We specialise in treating complex multi-symptom conditions which affect mood, energy, cognitive function (brain fog), stress, pain, sleep and digestion.

We believe in combining the best of conventional medicine with effective holistic and plant medicine therapies to get your better, even if you have tried many approaches in the past that have not worked. We offer integrative medicine treatment options alongside medication including medical cannabis .

Then you are in the right place.

Book Initial Consultation

We Don’t just prescribe medications but help you create health and wellbeing to live a happier more fulfilled life and become more resilient.

We do it by incorporating targeted medications, plant medicines, mindbody & nutritional medicine, brain-gut connection optimisation and personalised medicine approaches into a holistic bespoke treatment plan to help you reach your goals.

My Practice Philoposy: Dr Dani

We are all unique, so our medicine should be too. I firmly believe that every one of us has the potential to become more resilient no matter how big the challenges or what stage of your health journey you are at.

I believe in the innate healing potential in each of us especially when we can remove obstacles to healing and connect all the dots-even when a ‘cure’ may not be possible.

I use a root cause approach to medicine. I don’t just look at each symptom in isolation or use a ‘drugs only’ approach where more medications are added for each new symptom. That approach doesn’t create the most potential for healing. A ‘one-sized fits all’ approach is also bound to fail especially if you suffer from a complex chronic condition or symptoms.

My approach to seeing you as a patient is not just about assessing a specific symptom, diagnosis or disease, it’s about looking at you as a whole and unique person and choosing treatment modalities which are expertly integrated. Not for the sake of making things complicated but to make your treatment plan work better and support your long term healing.

I am active in mentoring physician colleagues and teaching and I try to live by example too. This includes following nutritional medicine approaches and having a mindbody practice as well as doing my own ‘inner work.’

At the end of the day, we all want to be happy, feel fulfilled and connected to the people and things we care about most. I will work with you to help remove the health barriers to achieving this best self version of you.

Holistic treatment is the core of what I do, but I won’t recommend a ‘natural’ treatment or approach just because it’s natural–it has to actually work and have value. Otherwise holistic treatment can become just as unempowering and frustrating as ‘drug only’ approaches. It’s all about doing what works-for you.

How Resilience Medicine Began

Our Founder, Dr Dani Gordon created the Resilience Medicine system based on a decade + experience treating thousands of patients with integrative medicine (IM) and medical cannabis (MC).

Early in her medical practice in Canada she specialised in long term chronic conditions and found most patients improved significantly more when integrative programs including diet, nutraceuticals and mindbody approaches were added to drug therapy.

After adding medical cannabis (MC) to her practice, she found even her most difficult to treat patients experienced dramatically improved quality of life and relief from symptoms. Significantly, they were more able to engage with their integrative programs, often with life changing results.

Cannabis Medicines Dramatically improve Quality Of Life

Many MC patients see positive changes within days, but often 3-6 months of adjustments such as strain, ratio, form, dose & timing can be needed to maximise treatment effect, especially for complex or sensitive patients.

Without this adjustment process, many patients can stop treatment prematurely believing MC was just ‘another treatment that didn’t work for me’ when a huge improvement in their quality of life was possible

Most chronic health patients have multiple symptom clusters that interrelate and respond effectively to MC but do not fit just one diagnosis or medical speciality. Standard narrowly focused assessment tools do not accurately capture these more global changes in symptoms.

Dr Gordon developed Resilience Medicine to address these problems.

Using Data To Personalise Treatment

Resilience Medicine uses integrative treatment options alongside medications and medical cannabis and uses proprietary wellbeing analytics throughout the treatment process to fully capture specific functional wellbeing and symptom domains. This improves medical treatment by allowing us to:

  1. Start initial protocols based on personalised data signatures, not just simple broad diagnoses criteria.
  2. Longitudinally track detailed patient responses to treatment, allowing for more effective protocol adjustments.
  3. Consider more specific treatment or testing options based on a more complete data picture.

Areas of Focus: We also treat many conditions not mentioned below but these are our primary areas of specialisation

Depression & Mood Disorders

Chronic Fatigue, ME & Long Covid

Chronic Pain

Service Offerings

We don’t just provide appointments. we provide solutions in the context of a holistic long-term partnership for your health & wellbeing.

  • Medication Management-Integrative & Cannabinoid medicine doesn’t mean ‘anti-medicine.’ Where needed, we use a personalised medicine approach to find the best medications including novel therapies to help you feel better without unnecessary side effects. Using the Resilience medicine approach can also reduce the need for medications in many instances by using holistic and natural treatments to maximise efficacy where possible.
  • Cannabinoid & Plant Medicines- Nearly 50% of modern drugs came from plants.   Cannabinoid medicines are one of the most powerful group of plant chemicals to help aid healing in many cases where drug alone approaches or even other holistic approaches have failed. In addition to this, we will help optimise the right supplements, formulation, dose and synergistic combinations to have the most biochemical impact while avoiding unsafe or simply ineffective costly supplement regimens.
  • Functional Medicine Testing-functional medicine goes beyond the limitations of conventional lab tests and blood tests to look at the root causes and contributors of illness, ranging from chronic fatigue to digestive issues to brainfog, mood and attentional issues as well as chronic pain.  We use testing for nutrient levels, organic acid levels, essential metabolism of key nutrients, oxidative stress, methylation pathways and circadian rhythm hormone levels such as cortisol and melatonin rhythm testing.
  • Microbiome Testing-We now know that the gut microbiome, inflammation levels and many of the special molecules made in our gut directly affect our brain, mental health, immune system and overall health.  We provide advanced gastrointestinal stool testing to assess for maldigestion/absorption, inflammation, dysbiosis, metabolite imbalances and chronic low grade infections that can impair the gut health, gut barrier function, contribute to food sensitivity and mast cell dysregulation and impact global immune and nervous system functioning.
  • Genetic Testing-No one person is exactly the same and now research is showing that due to genetic differences, people can respond very differently to specific medications.  We use advanced genetic testing to predict and optimise your response to medications where needed
  • Mindbody Medicine-we help you use simple, targeted meditation and mindbody techniques to help get control over symptoms, enhance emotional resilience and change patterns of thinking or doing that are no longer working for you
  • Integrating Psychedelic Experiences-the therapeutic use of psychedelic substances, as well as non-drug approaches including holotropic breathwork, has growing evidence for a number of conditions including treatment resistant depression, ptsd and others.  We can help assess if you would be a good candidate for ketamine assisted psychotherapy, which is legal in the UK and done in a medical setting, and help you process the learning from such experiences so that they are a tool in your healing journey towards greater happiness, resilience and life fulfilment.

We are Part of T21

Resilience Medicine Clinics, as part of our commitment to real world evidence research is participating in Project Twenty21, the largest observational medical cannabis research project in Europe. The value of real world evidence (RWE) to assess the effectiveness of medical cannabis is increasingly being recognised by the mainstream medical and research community, since cannabis medicines contain multiple active ingredients in one medicine and treat multiple symptoms at one time, making traditional RCT (randomised placebo controlled trials) more difficult. T21 aims to add to this valuable RWE base so that the lack of perceived evidence, a major barrier to having medical cannabis available on the NHS, may be addressed. You do not have to participate in T21 to be seen as a medical cannabis patient, it is completely up to you. If you do wish to become a T21 medical cannabis patient please let us know at the time of booking your first visit with us.
